The 2013 report on NTDs outlined ten recommendations of how to support NTD endemic countries and their governments to deliver sustainable and cost effective programmes to control and eliminate NTDs. This is particularly focused on working in partnership with at-risk communities, international agencies and donors, the UK government. The report looked at four main areas in depth. Firstly, the elimination of NTDs in the development context. Secondly, integrated approaches and drivers of elimination through a Nigerian case study. Thirdly the need for inter-sectoral approaches to reach elimination through a case study on water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and NTDs. Finally post-elimination surveillance, through a case studies on leprosy in India and onchocerciasis in Colombia.
