An Unprecedented Opportunity: Malaria Annual Report 2014

The 2014 Malaria report explores the need for an integrated approach between programmes focused on tackling specific diseases and strengthening national health systems overall. This is the fourth and final malaria report from the APPMG during the 2010-2015 Parliament. The report looks at the common themes of malaria work throughout this period including: solid progress in reducing deaths and sickness from malaria, a continuing and very substantial gap between the sums needed to control malaria effectively, and what is available, and new challenges, in particular growing resistance to artemisinin-based drugs and to the insecticides used to treat bed nets. Finally, looking to the Sustainable Development Goals the report makes a number of key recommendations for the Government, DFID, all funders, the APPMG, and all stakeholders.
