Malaria at the Crossroads: APPMG Malaria Annual Report 2013

The 2013 Malaria report outlines five key areas in successfully tackling malaria: the case for investment, the means to prevent and treat malaria, the threats to controlling malaria, sustaining and accelerating the gains against malaria, and the ambition to eliminate not just control. The report particularly highlights the threat of insecticide resistance, showing how large the funding gap remains, even despite very substantial increases in money coming via the Global Fund and directly from the US and UK governments. Finally, the report has twelve recommendations for Government and other stakeholders, as well as the call to act with urgency and determination to maintain and accelerate progress in malaria prevention and treatment as there is no time for complacency in the fight against malaria.
